The XC40 Recharge took the superbly versatile and luxurious XC40 compact SUV to new levels by giving it a state-of-the-art electric propulsion system. The Volvo C40 and Volvo XC40 Recharge are all about performance. Thanks to a pair of perfectly calibrated electric motors, one in the front that makes 201 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque and one in the rear that outputs the same, these stylish SUVs deliver 402 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. These motors are powered by a 78 kWh battery pack that is strategically placed in the floor. Performance enthusiasts will love the fact that the C40 and XC40 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4,9 seconds.
This powertrain is not only up for any challenge in terms of performance, it will also take you further on your trips. With a range rated at 364 kilometres for the C40 and 359 kilometres for the XC40 Recharge, you’ll be able to cover plenty of distance in the city or in the country, wherever your adventures take you.
Maximum versatility in the cabin
Both the XC40 Recharge and the C40 offer optimal space and comfort to their occupants. But the XC40 Recharge is a bit more spacious than the C40 when it is full of passengers. With a cargo volume rated at 578 litres behind the rear seats, the XC40 Recharge lets you take everything you need on your trips. The C40 offers 413 litres in the same configuration. However, both the C40 and XC40 Recharge can unleash upwards of 1,200 litres when the rear seats are folded. That’s a lot of space!
