The Volvo S60 and V60 Recharge are powered by a plug-in hybrid system that combines the best elements from a gasoline engine and an electric powertrain. One of the attributes of this system is the fuel economy that is possible. Indeed, the S60 Recharge can achieve a fuel consumption as low as 7.0L / 100 km on the highway and 8.4L / 100 km in the city, with a combined figure of 7.8 L / 100 km. The V60 Recharge is also capable of the same numbers, despite its higher weight. What is even more impressive is the all-electric range of 35 kilometers that can be achieved if you plug the vehicle into a charger. This means that you could make all of your daily commutes without using a single drop of fuel, which is good for the environment and your wallet. If you need more power at any point in your electric drive, the gasoline engine seamlessly steps in and cuts back out when your cruising speed has been reached.
