Volvo Car Canada is enhancing its product range with the addition of the XC60 Black Edition, a new iteration of its acclaimed luxury SUV set to be available for the 2024 model year. Exclusive to the top-tier Ultimate equipment level, this variant comes with a series of distinctive features that elevate its aesthetic appeal.
The XC60 Black Edition's exterior is painted in Onyx Black and complemented by a range of black details. These include a glossy black iron mark logo, a Volvo spread word mark, and unique 21-inch 5-Double Spoke High Gloss Black Alloy wheels. These design elements contribute to a sporty yet elegant visual profile for this popular SUV model.
For those interested, orders for the XC60 Black Edition are expected to open soon, with deliveries slated to begin in early 2024. This new offering builds upon the XC60's solid legacy; the model has been a significant part of Volvo's lineup for 15 years and was crowned 2018 World Car of the Year. It has also previously featured the Black Edition styling, much like the S60 Sedan.
Inside, the Black Edition carries forward the Scandinavian design ethos with its charcoal interior, available in either Charcoal Ventilated Nappa Leather or Nappa Leather/Leatherette/Textile Sport Seats. Both options provide a cockpit-like atmosphere that's both dynamic and sophisticated. Adding to the interior ambiance are metal mesh aluminum decor, a crystal gear shift knob by Orrefors, and a 12.3-inch Digital Driver Display equipped with Google built-in features.
When it comes to performance, Volvo has included two hybrid powertrain options to align with its sustainability goals. The XC60 Recharge Black Edition T8 houses a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 312 hp four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a 143 hp electric motor, capable of providing up to 58 km of electric range in Pure mode. On the other hand, the XC60 B5 AWD Black Edition features mild hybrid technology, melding an internal combustion engine with an electric integrated starter generator.
Pricing for the XC60 Black Edition starts at $68,950 for the B5 AWD Ultimate variant and $83,950 for the T8 Recharge Ultimate version.
The XC60 Black Edition joins a comprehensive 2024 Volvo lineup that includes new powertrain options for the fully electric C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge models, as well as a range of sedans and SUVs. The addition reaffirms Volvo's commitment to offering a variety of electrified options, meeting the diverse needs of customers while progressing towards a fully electric future.
