The EX30 impressed a panel of 39 global experts with its exceptional functionality and aesthetic, scoring a notable 93 out of 100 during the Red Dot Award's rigorous assessment process, which judges entries on criteria such as function quality, seduction, usability, and responsibility.
Volvo Cars CEO Jim Rowan underscored the alignment of the EX30 with the company's values, noting its embodiment of premium Scandinavian design in a compact format, prioritizing functionality. He praised the model as Volvo's most environmentally friendly fully electric vehicle yet, adhering to the brand's stringent safety and advanced technology standards, ideal for the growing trend towards electric vehicles.
In terms of design, the EX30 features a harmonious balance with a long wheelbase and large wheels, enhanced by equal overhangs for added refinement. The use of natural and recycled materials in its construction underscores Volvo's commitment to sustainability. The interior is cleverly designed to take full advantage of the electric platform, optimizing space for storage, controls, and displays, thereby ensuring a flexible and premium cabin experience.
Since its debut last summer, the EX30 has won over 20 major awards, including the Car Design Award 2024, Sun Car of the Year, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year from the Sunday Times, and Eco Warrior of the Year from Top Gear magazine. These accolades affirm the Volvo EX30’s leadership in design and functionality, enhancing its stature as a standout model in Volvo's lineup and reflecting the brand's dedication to excellence in automotive design and sustainability.
