Available on all new Volvo vehicles from the 60 and 90 series, the Advanced Air Cleaner is a system that removes a number of contaminants from the air you breathe inside your vehicle.
A technology that removes pollution from the air
The Advanced Air Cleaner installed in many new Volvo vehicles is capable of removing up to 95% of the PM 2.5 particles (a pollutant found in high levels inside city centers) from the air entering the cabin. This is possible due to a synthetic filter and the process of Ionization. A sensor measures the level of particulates inside and outside of the vehicle and displays this information on the climate control screen to let you compare the air quality inside the vehicle and in the surrounding air.
A purifier that helps with your allergies
By removing contaminants present in your new Volvo vehicle, the available air purifier helps with your seasonal allergies. Indeed, the filtration system is capable of blocking 99.9% of the pollen that is carried in the air that enters the cabin. This is true for many types of pollen, including those from trees, weeds, and grass, which are the types responsible for most cases of seasonal allergies. This allows you to feel better inside your car and it contributes to making you a better driver by letting you focus on the road instead of your symptoms.
A barrier against viruses
Volvo vehicles equipped with the new Advanced Air Cleaner are even capable of protecting your health by stopping 97% of the airborne viruses from entering the vehicle via the air conditioning system. In addition, the purifying process is capable of removing 95% of the viruses already present inside in only a few minutes, which means that even if the contaminants entered the vehicle through the doors or the windows, you and your passengers will be better protected against them.
