The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge and the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge are two compact electric SUVs that have a lot in common, but they still have some important differences.
The XC40 Recharge
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge is a fully electric version of the popular XC40 premium subcompact SUV. This model benefits from all of the advantages of electric cars, such as the lack of polluting emissions and the savings when compared to a gasoline vehicle and it also benefits from traditional Volvo attributes.
For example, the XC40 Recharge is very practical for its size due to its high roof and upright proportions which make for efficient use of the interior space, both in the cargo area and in the rear passenger compartment. From the outside, the boxy shape of the XC40 Recharge gives it a premium look that is in line with the larger Volvo models.
The C40 Recharge
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge is a unique vehicle in the brand’s lineup since it is its first coupe-like SUV, as well as its first fully dedicated electric vehicle. Its exterior styling is sleeker and sportier than the XC40, on which it is based, due to a lower roofline that sweeps down at the rear. This makes the C40 easily recognizable and gives it an interesting personality that conveys a love for the unconventional.
In addition to its visual appeal, the sloping roofline of the C40 Recharge also serves a functional purpose by improving its aerodynamics. By reducing its wind resistance, it allows the 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge to drive 5 kilometers more on a charge than the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge, for a total range of up to 364 kilometers. The C40 is also a little quicker than the XC40 Recharge, with 0 to 100 km/h accelerations over in only 4.7 seconds, versus 4.9 seconds.
