Volvo vehicles are known for their impressive luxury and features that improve comfort and safety. Volvo has also been a leading voice in the automotive industry when it comes to green technologies and currently offers one of the most impressive electric and plug-in hybrid luxury vehicle lineups on the market.
Volvo also has developed technologies that will help you save fuel when you are out on the road. The most notable of these technologies is the Eco Drive mode. This particular driving mode adjust various parameters of the vehicle to ensure optimal fuel economy. When you select Eco Drive mode, you are getting a vehicle that is tuned to be more efficient. In order to do so, Eco Drive mode affects a variety of areas that include:
- Gearbox
- Engine output
- Accelerator response

For example, when Eco Drive mode is selected, the transmission shift points are modified to preserve fuel economy and the gearbox can even disengage from the engine in situations where coasting is possible in order to limit fuel consumption.
